SEEKING ELECTION TO PUBLIC OFFICE

SCHOOL BOARD

Petitions for the Office of Local School District - Board Member Wyandotte Public School District, as part of the the General Election to be held in the City of Wyandotte on November 8, 2022, are now available in the City Clerk’s Office.  The deadline to file School Board petitions is July 26, 2022 at 4 p.m.

Two petitions are available for potential School Board Member candidates:

Partial Term, ending December 31, 2024 - VOTE FOR ONE (1): This position was created by the mid-term resignation of Member Kirby, whose vacancy was filled by the Board's appointment of Member Webber. Member Webber has been appointed to serve until a successor is elected at the next regular School District election and the elected person takes office, per WPS Board Bylaws, Policies and Procedures.

Full Term, ending December 31, 2026 - VOTE FOR NOT MORE THAN FOUR (4)

CITY OFFICES

Petitions for the Offices of  Mayor, City Council, Clerk, Treasurer, and Assessor for the General City Election to be held in the City of Wyandotte on May 6, 2025 are now available in the City Clerk’s Office.  

ALL PETITIONS MUST be filed with the City Clerk, Lawrence S. Stec, NO LATER THAN 4 P.M., TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2025. 

Petitions must contain the signatures of at least 410 but not more than 821 registered voters of the City of Wyandotte.  Circulator should remind persons that sign the petition to complete each category listed on petitions.  Candidates may pay a $100 non-refundable filing fee instead of circulating petitions. 

The deadline to withdraw, by letter only, for the City General Election, will be Friday, January 24, 2025 at 4 P.M. 

In accordance with Chapter 2, Article X, Section 2-310(c), a candidate for elected office shall file a disclosure statement with the city clerk for the previous twelve (12) months no later than (10) days after he becomes a candidate, unless he has filed a disclosure statement with the city clerk during the previous twelve (12) months. A copy of the disclosure statement shall be provided by the city clerk to each candidate at the time the candidate files as a candidate for office. This form is included in your packet. Please return with other required documents when filing for office. 

Please note: The City Clerk’s Office can provide Notary Services.  Candidate packets are available in the Office of the City Clerk. Appointments can be made by calling 734.324.4560.
