Solicitor & Peddler Licenses

A license/permit is REQUIRED for all types of solicitors, peddlers, and transient merchants seeking to engage in business within the City of Wyandotte.

A person desiring the license required by the provisions of the relevant Code shall file an application with the City Clerk and submit any required documentation. Please see the links in the table below for information relating to the application for Solicitor and Peddler licenses.

Non-Commercial Solicitation Permits

As used in this article, the term "noncommercial solicitation" shall mean the request, directly or indirectly, for money, credit, property, financial assistance, or other thing of value on the plea or representation of any group, society, corporation, organization, or individual that such money, credit, property, financial assistance, or other thing of value will be used for any religious, patriotic, philanthropic, educational, fraternal, benevolent, or reformatory purpose, not operated for pecuniary profits, where no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any person, private shareholder, or individual, and where the solicitation of such organization shall be conducted by members or officers thereof voluntarily and without remuneration for such solicitation."

PLEASE NOTE: The City requires a background check on each individual who will be participating in the solicitation of residents/businesses within the City of Wyandotte. No license will be assigned until all components of the application and related, required documents are submitted to the City Clerk, including a satisfactory iCHAT report from the State of Michigan.
