Garage Sale Application

All citizens who hold garage sales in The City of Wyandotte are required to obtain a permit. Garage sale length is limited to 3 consecutive days. Households may have a maximum of 2 garage sales per year, plus the Citywide Garage Sale date. The City of Wyandotte holds an annual “Citywide Garage Sale” every May.

In order to obtain a permit for a garage sale you must:

2. Submit fee to the Clerk’s Office.  The application fee for garage sales is $5.00.

2010 Citywide Garage Sale

1. Wyandotte’s 10th Annual City-Wide Garage Sale will take place on Saturday, May 15th, 2010, (9:00 am to 4:00 pm) & Sunday, May 16th, 2010, (noon to 4:00 pm) and is open to Wyandotte residents only. Please complete the above application form and return it to the Wyandotte Museums’ Office at 2624 Biddle Ave. Please keep this information sheet for your records. The Garage Sale takes place rain or shine.

2. Total Fee is $15.00 this year. Fee includes the Garage Sale License, City Wide Sale Participant fee, and a $5 sign deposit. When participants return their sign to the Wyandotte Museums Office within 2 weeks after the sale, the $5 deposit will be refunded.

3. Signs will not be picked up at participant’s homes. Signs must be returned to the Wyandotte Museums Office, 2624 Biddle Ave., Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To receive the sign deposit back, signs CANNOT be returned to City Hall, they MUST be returned to the Wyandotte Museum. The deadline to return signs and receive the deposit back is May 28, 2010.

4. Deadline for completed applications is Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 5:00 pm. No applications will be taken after that date and time.

5. Your street as well as general categories of the articles you are selling will be listed on a special brochure and map. These will be made available for $1 at the Wyandotte Museum, 2610 Biddle Ave., during the event days and times, to persons attending the city wide garage sale.

6. Please take a city-wide garage sale sign from the Wyandotte Museum. Place this sign in YOUR yard the weekend of the event. Please note again, that signs will not be picked up at participant’s homes year. Signs must be returned to the Wyandotte Museums Office, 2624 Biddle Ave., Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To receive the $5 sign deposit back, signs CANNOT be returned to City Hall, they MUST be returned to the Wyandotte Museum. The deadline to return signs and receive the deposit back is May 28, 2010.
